"Then it'd be especially needful to keep in shape," Daine says with a nod of understanding. She wants to say something about the siege, too - she's been in one, though not recently - but she's not sure what there is to say. It's fair awful, knowing that there was a battle on and that you don't know how it'll end - that you won't know until you're back home, and then you'll just be in the thick of it. She doesn't want to draw more attention to how frustrating it must feel.

Instead, she ventures, "There are other warriors here? From realms like ours?"
