Sometimes, a man had to be brave and sometimes that required more than a little fortification. The kettle was whistling shrilly and merrily as he got to the kitchen, turning off the stove. Biffy scooped a lighter green tea into the pot and let it steep and set down mugs instead of cups. It was that sort of day.
"It really is, isn't it? Especially when it's someone else's scheme and you were just minding your own business." Biffy shook his head. This far removed from the situation now, he could be annoyed with the Potentate rather than just terrified.
