This was the last thing Biffy had expected to see when he arrived home from work and investigation. By now, he was used to the staccato of excited and clumsy paws as Pawvus and Kitten came to see him at the door, so to be greeted by the sound of confused feeling wailing and the sight of a tail spilling out and down the top few stairs was quite unusual, put mildly.

"Daine?" he called up the stairs. He could hear footsteps above them and smell her presence, currently tinged with anxiety or fear. "Daine, I hate to alarm you but there does seem to be a dragon of unusual size on our second floor landing."
