The waitress brings their coffee and pastries, and Daine wastes little time adding enough cream and sugar to turn her beverage into something that's more coffee in name than in taste. She glances up self-consciously partway through the transformation, then adds a prim, "It'll help kick my energy back up." And make it palatable.
